Who runs this

SOLVLET is a product brand run by a solo developer. There is no company behind it. Questions about this page, and requests to delete what you have left here, are received at hello@solvlet.app.

What follows describes what the software actually does. Nothing is collected that is not listed here.

What this site collects

A record of each page view, and whatever you send if you use the request form. Nothing is loaded from a third-party server, fonts included. The introduction video is hosted on this site itself.

What is recorded on each page view

Every time a page is shown, the following is written as one line.

  • The path of the page that was shown.
  • The language of the page (Japanese or English).
  • The host name of the site you were on immediately before. Moves within this site are not recorded, and nothing of the other site's path or query string is kept.
  • The values of utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, if the URL carried them.
  • A device type: the User-Agent at the moment of sending, reduced to one of phone, tablet or desktop, with the raw string discarded.
  • The date and time.

Links from this site to the apps carry utm values that mark the visit as coming from solvlet.app. For what each app does with them, see that app's own privacy policy.

What is not recorded

No cookies are used: none are set and none are read. Browser storage is not used to keep these records (the Lab prototype pages are covered below). Your IP address is not stored. The raw User-Agent string is not stored. No number is created to tell visitors apart, so coming here twice is counted as two page views and nothing more; there is no way of knowing it was the same person.

What it is for

To see which announcement — a video, a post — brought how many people to this site and to the apps, and to decide what to announce next. It is used for nothing else.

Where it is kept, and for how long

In a database on the same server as the request form: the Render server that also runs Bonsai Karte, in Singapore. No third-party analytics service is involved, and nothing is passed outside. Each line is erased 400 days after it was written.

When you use the request form

Sending the form keeps the following, separately from the record above.

  • The text you wrote.
  • Your email address, only if you chose to leave it.
  • The language of the page you were reading (Japanese or English).
  • A device type: the User-Agent at the moment of sending, reduced to one of phone, tablet or desktop.
  • The page you came from, without its query string, and the campaign parameters (utm_source / utm_medium / utm_campaign) if they were present.

What is not kept is worth stating too. Your IP address is not stored. The raw User-Agent string is discarded the moment it is reduced to the device type above.

Please do not write personal information about yourself or anyone else in the text — names, contact details, addresses. If you would like a reply, use the email field instead.

What it is used for

The text you wrote is read in order to decide what to build next.

If you left an email address, it is used to tell you about a new app before the public announcement, to tell you when your request becomes something we build, and occasionally to ask whether you would review something. It is used for nothing else. There is no newsletter. It is never sold, and never shared for advertising.

Where it goes

What you send is stored in a database on Render. The servers are outside Japan, in the Singapore region.

Notice that a new request has arrived is sent to the operator by email through Resend. Messages to you are sent through Resend as well.

The form and the page-view records are received by the same server that runs Bonsai Karte (bonsai.solvlet.app), operated by the same person.

How long it is kept, and deletion

An email address is erased one year after it was left, if there has been no occasion to write to you. A request text with no address attached is kept as an anonymous note for as long as this brand operates.

Anything is deleted promptly on request. Write to hello@solvlet.app. A request about an email address is accepted from that address, so that nobody can erase someone else’s.

When you use a Lab prototype

The prototype pages under /lab/ may keep what they need in order to work — what you type, and your settings — in your browser's storage, and nowhere else. Nothing is sent to a server, and the operator cannot read it. Clearing this site's data in your browser erases it as well. Page views are recorded exactly as on any other page.

Server logs

This site and the server that receives the form both run on Render, which keeps its own access logs outside our control, governed by Render's own policy.
